CodeMeter is a token and security-key in one. CodeMeter is suitable for software protection, digital content protection and user authentication; it is possible to choose from different form-factors such as USB, SD, microSD, CompactFlash, PC Card or Express Card.
Every CodeMeter key, independent of form factor, comes equipped with a crypto-chip and protected memory of at least 128 kByte to store licenses or certificates; this allows for great versatility in deployment of different features simultaneously. Through the PKCS#11 and CSP support with Charismathics CSSI middleware, is identity management possible for a variety of uses for example PKI applications that exist for Outlook, Firefox, Acrobat and Virtual Private Networks. The certificate is safely stored in the CodeMeter and then can easily be used by the user in multiple systems (mobility). The CodeMeter can also be equipped with 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 GByte of flash memory.
